Powered it up and turns out it's noiser than I expected. So maybe it will have to live in the garage. At least for now, until I can built a sound proof house for it. It's also missing the dipstick on the pump, so no real idea on how much oil should be in it.

Dipstick part number Fini 4105289 (aka 012036000) and is around a fiver?? It's vented too as a breather.

I'm very tempted to go and get the mazza.
Do it. Only reason I haven't pulled the Boxster out is that it's on SORN and I'm not paying for a months tax for a week.
I'm an idiot and still paying tax on it. It isn't insured though although that's only £100 ish.
I need to get a lock up closer to home. It's currently 15 miles away and a pain in the arse when I want to use it.

If it is taxed but uninsured watch out for the automated fine from the DVLA for no insurance. They run a check on the databases every so often and anything that is taxed but not insured gets a letter. I believe they start with a warning rather than straight to fine though. If it has a SORN you are ok. It is so easy to tax and SORN online you can tax it a month at a time if you wanted.
I sent a message to the ebay seller with a polite enquiry (honest) about that fuel sender for the AMC.
Trying to work with the seller of the electric window switches which are in mega condition and are the right ones for my car - he's in the USA and he can't seem to set his listing to allow me to do a buy it now on 'em.
I have also bid on a box of tricks to let me operate the Diesel burning heater on the D3. These are a cheap alternative to fixing the buggered glow plugs - not a job I'd want to tackle and not cheap to pay for. With this little gadget you can run the FBH for a while 15-30 mins and then the car will start up without needing the glowplugs. Not needed now, but D3 was reluctant to start in sub zero temps.

I seen a 2011 volvo s40 advertised by a fb tit. He said it had a heater that warmed the car up before you got in. I wasn't sure what he was on about.
