I suspect the US 25 year old import rule is also helping to significantly boost prices, at least according to the articles that I've read.

My eldest and his mates are 30ish and none of them give a flying fuck about cars.

Friend of a friend who is a similar age to me sold his R32 for a significant sum that helped pay a good chunk off his mortgage. He bought it in his early 20s when he probably shouldn't have done. Was exported to the States.

Focus passed its MOT today, thank fuck. Makes the £90 in two rear tyres not completely wasted. Not sure why it failed on light height but at least it's a free thing to be fixed.

Should give the vehicle some monetary value to sell on. Finally gives me a clear run to buy a TT Mk1 now. I can transfer the insurance on this when I find one and then sell this after.

If it wasn't low, then it'll be book-balancing for stats.

Tbh given their location in the city (shit area) and the demographic of that area, I imagine they get more than enough shonky cars in to not need to do that.

It's unfortunate that the Integra Type R wasn't a tiny bit more practical for a family, otherwise my mum would have ordered one of them instead of another Civic.
Yeah, about that.

Changed the oil and oil filter on the Street Triple this morning, as there is some nice shade under the tree. Old oil that came out was a lovely colour, nice and clean, although some gorilla put the oil filter on, necessitating the use of a filter strap to get it off.

Refilled with Repsol's finest 10W/40 and a Hiflo RC filter (the RC has a 17mm nut on it, making it easy to remove, even though i did not over tighten it).

Nice neat job, all done in 20 minutes. Most of the old oil transferred from the drain tray into an old oil bottle to take to the tip. Had about another litre in the tray, as needed something to pour it in to.

I think many of you are already here.

Took a step back and stood on the edge of the drain tray. Most of the oil catapulted over the swing arm and rear tyre. Bollocks. Spent about 30 minutes washing the back end of the bike down, and all the oil seems to have washed of.

No damage done, it just means I'll have to "scrub" the tyre back in again and take it gently for 60 miles or so. And the oil spilt is on a bit of bare garden that doesn't matter, as nothing grows there

Ooh fuck. I'm way more nervous than I should be. Only £40 to add my mother, son and step son on the insurance. I wonder if I could get him covered on the van?
