I do all my insurances monthly and just update online , I’ve noticed it goes up a couple of quid each time . Last July the XF was £39 per month, when I foolishly bought a Chrysler 300 a couple of months ago it jumped to £50 even though the value was less. Yesterday I changed it to a BMW X3 and it went up again to £55 per month for the remainder of the policy . This could be justified by the value being 3x that of the Chrysler ( according to Tesco) .
The good news is that I’ve just signed on and will get £84 a week dole money. That will just about cover the monthly tax and insurance on the Porsche, Merc and BMW. Just need to find a tax free Classic that I can insure for £4.63 a month, now.

You won't get that massive amount of cash. They tax you on it. Expect about £300 a month.

The Personal Allowance is over 12k so why would he be taxed if it's his only income?
£84 a week is just over £300 a month.

Depends what you have earned in the tax year in which you started a claim, though, I guess.

You need at least 17inches to lap the Nurburgring in a reasonable time or in other matters to join the priapric plumbers club.

Because they tax you from the start. That happened to me last April when I signed on. Checked the bank statement, I got £311, so £25 taken.
