Does that video work for you?
Yes.

Is it a 2 stroke? If so, it may need more oil?

Ben

Is that the 98cc Villiers engine in the James? My brother and I owned a few of their autocycles when we were teenagers. Spares for Villiers two strokes is plentiful still.

Lots of info on the James marque here: https://search.freefind.com/find.html?s ... uery=James

Looks great with the tinworks removed-never seen one with that fairing contraption before, so presume it is home made.

EDIT: Just seen photos on one of the links that shows the Superlux model has the tinware fitted

Two stroke.

There's an oil measure incorporated into the filler cap, so it's easy to get the mix right.

The tank is still full of crap and keeps blocking the fuel tap and fuel line. I'll take it off and try and clean it out properly.

After the second clear out (following a quarter mile push home) I used some of my premixed chainsaw fuel and added some oil, so it was putting up a fair old smoke screen.

Yep, 98cc Villiers. The tin does look a bit odd, particularly as it has been painted.

If it's anything like the cap on Bantams, the measure is well out for modern two smoke oils. You'll be better off doing it by known amounts & working out how much of a capful to use.

That is a lovely old thing, it's a shame the tinwork doesnt have the original paint as it has a lovely used look about it.

Should need less modern oil?

It's a long time since I looked at one, but yes I think that's the case.
