Going to have to swap the wheels back. There's an awful wobbly feeling along with a thud on every rotation. Not balanced and a flat spot I reckon.
Great.

Greased Minor front end and the one end of the propshaft I could reach, I never get them both accessible as they don't line up linear-wise but usually manage one each time. CBA to jack the arse up which would have probably helped. Anyway got the toffee hammer out and found about 5-6 small 50p sized "areas of concern" which will all need welding up.

None of them are MOT worthy I don't think but I will put it through this year I think to see if there is anything I've missed/ignored. Going forward the intended repairs will mean stripping all 4 wings off and the sill cover plates and getting it all priced up, I think. Been with me nearly 20 years now so deserves a bit of love I suppose.....Might even fit the rust-free bootlid I have had in the garage for 15 of those years (hope it is still rust-free).

Hope you took care disposing of the cloth you applied the boiled linseed oil with, as it can self combust.

I read that warning when I oiled the entire bodywork of the Cowley one year. After my efforts it looked a bit shinier but the effect soon wore off. Anyway, I fancied a bonfire so set fire to the rags I'd been using. Very disappointing.......

Just had a letter from the current owner of my P4 after finding my name in the history. Has given me a load of questions to answer 😂

I'm most glad it's gone to an owner who is going to restore it!

Had another go at the driver's seat. I used the old colour (the new stuff hasn't arrived yet) and while not perfect, it's 'perfect' enough to not annoy me. I am now waiting for delivery of an £18 bottle of dye that I no longer need/want. Think if the weather is nice again (today it was glorious, not even slightly raining... miracle!) I shall put the Merc back on daily duties as, sunshine, roof down and pose until the wheels drop off!

More leather ointments arrived. Did nothing with them.

Instead, I bought a camcorder.

I expect that to make an appearance in the final season of stranger things!

Took up the slack on the handbrake of the van and twatted my ear/heed off a spring hanger in the process. Just been in the shower and noticed in the mirros my right lug is swollen.

Went to take the spare wheel off to swap it for the buggered front one. I need a five sided allen key to drop the cradle underneath ffs so have ordered a set. I didn't know there was such a thing. I didn't get a toolkit or jack with the van so have been carrying a bottle jack and wheel brace with me. I still would've been fucked if I'd got a puncture.
If you look in the picture above you can see the bit with big cables that the allen key goes into.
