Re: Two wheels good.
I can't get my bike to fire up, just because I haven't ridden it for months, or paid it any attention.
What an ungrateful Bitch.

Re: Two wheels good.
Fuels probably gone off, can you drain the carbs easily or give it a whiff of ether to get it running?

I will give her another try tomorrow, but I have limited mobility at the moment, so can't lift the tank. Can't seem to get the bloody cap off either.
I may go all Basil Fawlty on it.

- I scored very low on the autie test. I’m cheerful, happy, confident, like meeting new people, chatty and largely sociable. What the fuck am I doing on this forum?

Re: Two wheels good.
I still can't get mine to fire up.
The last couple of times i used it it was running a bit rough, when I pulled one of the plugs out it had fresh engine oil on it.
A bit of googling revealed that ZZR1100s do have problems with the rubber seals around the spark plugs.
So I replaced all four seals and spark plugs and I have run the engine since then.
Now when I try and start her, nothing.
She turns over well enough, but absolutely no sound of firing at all.
After watching a video on YouTube of a ZZR with a defective fuel pump I now think that may have been the problem all along.
The bike on the video is behaving exactly like mine did.
I am off work poorly at the moment and cannot lift the fuel tank, so will have to wait for a friend to help me at the weekend.
Also...
Why, all of a sudden am I lusting after a Ural?
They used to be cheap and crap, but by all accounts they have upped their game year on year, for the last few years.
Fuel injection, decent electrics, proper paint and more reliability.
A reverse gear would really be a bonus, mine hasn't got one and it is a pain, especially as it has very limited steering lock.
But fuck me, they are expensive now.
