Two wheels good.

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

As a full car license holder if I take a cbt I get automatic moped license. 50cc,no l plates and a pillion. What could go wrong? A friend bought a 16 plate lexmoto fmr 50 for 150 a month or so ago and I've told him I'd give him 200 for it in a couple if month's when we settled. He's said he won't be doing much with it if anything at all in that time has he needs to get his 1982 rialto saloon daily driver checked and if anything is found needing repairs before putting it through an mot,get his v plate robin on the road, finish building his buggy and has about 100 bicycles to work through. He's 67 and lives in a council bungalow in a posh part of Derbyshire. His neighbours love* him for keeping house prices low. The scooter is tidy enough and cheap enough for what I want to do which is basically make a twist and go skelly. With my gammy leg I thought a 50 will be best way forward and in time progress bigger like I had before I was taken ill
Its not a bad idea but a 50cc scooter doesn't have the power to pull your foreskin back, and they leave you riding in the gutter, at least get a 125 ffs.
More than adequate for what i need now. I covered many miles on an old cub 90 and I do like smaller cc bikes. Also but will sell easy if I can't get on with it.

That orange 50cc thingy is able to take all my 110kg around without issues. It is factory restricted to 40kph as it's classed as EU moped.
It easily takes me to the limit, unless going up hill then it sits just under :D

Fucking snow is back so no two wheel fun any time soon I fear.

Those modern scooters are usually pretty easy to derestrict without any external signs and then will manage 45-50mph and go a lot better up the hills. Searching on the internet should explain how to do this particular one. If you derestrict it make sure you only use decent quality synthetic two stroke oil.

The one I've been offered is a 4 banger but being a gy6 there's plenty of bits available for them. Lots of folk slate the gy6 in the Chinese named scooters but forget the big names use the same engine. For example peugeot, honda, kymco and sym

The same engine or it's a Chinese copy of the same engine?

Big difference. Years ago I had a chinese copy of some 125 yamaha and at two years old was a rusty pile of unreliable crap.

I've used Chinese parts to fix a Honda 125 years ago, they were very different quality to the ones I took off.

This looked like a 20 year old bike with just over 1k on the clock. I gave it to my labourer and it was scrapped not long after.
It was an exact copy of that easy rider type thing they did.

I can't afford it right now but it's like my dream bike.
They won't be any cheaper and I could see me owning it till my bike days are over.
