Well it can be stolen by an opportunist, as many are in winter when owners are "warming them up". Insurers will be laughing too.
Also the reason the UK doesn't allow remote start, coupled with emissions arguments; my truck remains resolutely locked with the remote start operational; apparently this means nothing.

I do that when it's really frosty. Start the van up then lock it with the other key. My disclok is on too of course.
