Is described as David Brown Thresherman. I'd never heard of that - familiar with the Cropmaster and the industrial version the RAF used to tow planes.

Lo and behold this one was new to the Air Ministry and probably later converted for Threshing duties -

They're odd things to drive as you sit on the offside with both feet together. There's not room for a pair of brake pedals, normal for tractors, so the brakes can also be applied independently by a hand lever on each side. The steering wheel is offset to the driver' s left, otherwise there wouldn't be room to climb aboard. Mine wasn't this model but the 2 seater cowled layout was the same and it proved very awkward in use. It was a also very early diesel, only mustering about 25bhp.

PS. I think George's Roesch had a hand in the design of these things, but its unlikely to be acknowledged by a Talbot owner.
Weirdly a Cropmaster VAK1A is the only tractor I have driven.

IIRC , apart from those "fiddle" brakes, there was a flipover part that linked twin footbrake pedals - so you could unlink them and brake each wheel separately. The one I drove was Petrol TVO for the raw power.

Belonged to a local old boy and was a regular at shows until he stopped driving in 2017 and sat in his garage until his death in October. Was originally up for £10,000 but they seem to have decided that was too cheap...

However at the same time, the expensive nature of it leads it to "have value". So far more likely to be loved and cared for, rather than mucked around with and left to rot on a driveway because "it's just an old worthless car".
But since when was a £10k worthless? Plenty dear enough at that.

It could also be because every flash Harry is telling them it’s only worth £7k mate. When they really want £10k.
This way when someone tries to knock them down to £11k they can pretend to consider, while wondering which of their hands to bite off. Problem of this tactic is finding someone interested to even look at it for so much more, before making a low ball at them.

I was mentioning more in general terms of value. Both 10k and 15k is way more than I'd ever spend for one of them and far more than I think they're really worth. Likewise that's more than many would want to spend too. Making only someone who really actually wants one and fully appreciate them to buy it. Which is what the car really needs to continue surviving.

I hope classic car prices do stay strong as it will help more of them to get saved. No one will spend 10k restoring a Farina if all they are likely to see back is 5. I am biased though as I have nearly 20k tied up in classics at the moment.

That Farina will sit at the dealer's for years, just like the Velox that's been up for sale for years.
