I was searching for a rope and a stool on Amazon and apparently they're popular searches with GPZ500 owners.

It's funny that despising the GPZ500 I would have no problem owning an ER5 or KLE500. It is a bit like me lusting over the Mk1 Cavalier but loathing the Opel Manta.

Surprised the Seven hasn't found a buyer, there's a pretty strong following for them on the Island and it carries a sought-after "ADL" numberplate. Perhaps that is its Achilles heel - the local market have probably seen the car for most of its 90 years and as you know it is a very ageing demographic. I wouldn't go near Martin Howey's stuff, he strikes me as being one of the worst auction peddlers, that Minor wants re-doing properly as it currently looks like a kiddies ride in that colour and horrible upholstery.

Quasar. I’ve been fascinated by these, and the whole feet-forward thing since reading all those Royce Creasey articles instead of doing homework… Not £13k fascinated though. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... 1995702949

Rode a Quasar many years ago when my brother had one in at his bike shop. Not dissimilar to a modern maxi scooter, but with a rattly roof

I owned a Yamaha GTS for a while. I was always intrigued by them and the whole 'hub centre steering' thing. It was dull. It felt exactly like a normal bike at anything above walking pace and the detuned engine pissed me off. I have pictures if anyone cares enough to see them. The front brake though was a constant pain in the arse as 6 pistons seemed to suck in as much air as the fluid they displaced, tried a Brembo master cylinder, useless just had to bleed the front brake before each ride.

Coincidentally, the dealer I sold it to (a friend at the time) spent ages and ages and very much money to get the engine up to the power level it should have as an EXUP/R1 (the exhaust downpipes being a major restriction as smaller bore) and then declared it to be...

'Boring!' and he sold it on again!

I knew someone slightly with one who liked to customise all his bikes. He fitted front forks so an almost unique design became the bloody same as everything else on the road.

I'll never understand why.
