Re: EBay Finds
I agree....Having a run-of-the-mill car like a Minor or MGB certainly balances the likes of the Cowley where I have been waiting for three years to get a window regulator, can't order a handbrake cable without getting it made up and am still searching for a working boot-handle with the correct key.
None of the Indian stuff either fits or is made of anything better than a Poundshop chocolate bar.

Re: EBay Finds
Can't you swap the barrel from your old boot handle over to a replacement? or get new bits* made up so the lock fits the key. I've forgot the name of them, but they are just flat bits of metal with slots in.mercrocker wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 1:56 pm I agree....Having a run-of-the-mill car like a Minor or MGB certainly balances the likes of the Cowley where I have been waiting for three years to get a window regulator, can't order a handbrake cable without getting it made up and am still searching for a working boot-handle with the correct key.

Re: EBay Finds
None of the boot handles I have had/got have a key! Yes, though, that is a possibility. The annoying thing is they have key numbers stamped on the shaft but when you order that reference they still don't bloody lock it! I have a Mr Bean-style bicycle lock around the handle and towbar as my present security arrangement although any inexperienced use of the bootlid is likely to slice an eyebrow off anyway.

Re: EBay Finds
Was that an answer or just a random comment after hearing the ice-cream van come round?

He has been helpful already! Got a few FA keys off him to try in the past but I could send him the latest handle to try and match....Cheerschadders wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 3:27 pm This guy is very good and might be able to help:

Lock pick set to get it open. Then stick a key in and file the wafers to make it work.
Or just replace the barrel with a known key one.
