EBay Finds

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Just had the photos of the other one. Does need a chunk of welding and paint. Nothing past my skill level but just worried making my snow ball of work to do into an avalanche.

A bit of rust history on old MOTs naturally but last was a pass. Also history of blue smoke but could be over zealous tester.

Seller has told me:
The engine starts first time but will need tappets adjusting carb service and turning I had it running for about an hour and there was no smoke problems.

That actually reads more like he is trying to dissuade petite from turning up and expecting to drive it home to the other end of the country.
Looks decent.

It's tempting to bid as it's current price is reasonable but I really don't want to buy another old car sight unseen from someone I don't know on eBay.

A reasonable start price that hasn't had any bids yet. I'd be surprised if it goes for anywhere near this though. First picture on the listing doesn't catch the eye very well though, so may not get top dollar.

Just sent a link to that to Mrs SiC.

NO!

*pause*

Looks like a restoration project...

You'd have to sell all your old cars if you bought that.

Do I take this as a maybe/yes?
(My BGT probably would be worth not far off that start price tbh)

Only pussies do that. You can always say you haven't actually bought it and it belongs to Tommy.

Unfortunately my savings and earnings are not a bottomless pit of money, so its probably the reality!

Also I think she has a better eye for what is a restoration project, considering I didn't notice the cracked paint (probably rust) underneath the rear number plate when I first looked through the photos.
