Why did you get rid of your Elan?
Obscene profit of course. It may have left Chestnut as a 1500 and re-engined as a 1558 by the factory as most were. It was a complete wreck.
There is no excuse for an S1 Elise when the Toyota powered, sweeter handling later model is still inexpensive. British toss - v - Toyota reliability. Will it work or will it shit its coolant everywhere? No brainer for me.

Just about everyone over 50 around here is an ex-lotus employee it seems (I am about 3rd gear away from Hethel here). Most were let go around the time of the Elise and judging by the state of their attitudes, the series 2 improvements were probably down to them not being there. One in 10 will show any faint enthusiasm for either the marque, or sports cars in general. In fact I bought a house who had been renovated by an ex lotus engineer. His passion was reserved only for Diss Town Football Club. The state of the wiring and plumbing reflects that.
Iād love to meet the designer of the rear seats in the Evora.

Evoras have rear seats?? I'd never have imagined that from looking at them from outside.
