Have you tried adding an extra earth at the light to make sure it is that that's the problem?

This shall be attempted.

Today I was just removing the Acclaim's side rubbing strips though, back to L spec!

The ultimate in mid 1980s middle class motoring.

Still want to generously* donate the Acclaim to t'girlfriend so I don't have to sell it, but I don't think she's keen...

She doesn't drive naff all, doesn't have a license. She's currently looking into getting her provisional, it's a bit more of a faff because she has type 1 diabetes.

I offered to teach her, but firstly I'm not sure if Lancaster will cover her on my policy as a 24 year old with a provisional license and secondly I fear teaching somebody to drive in 2021 with a Triumph Acclaim is only slightly more relevant than learning in a horse and cart.

Bad move if accepted.

I once tried teaching a lady-friend* and ultimately it ended in an argument with her being dropped off at Dumbarton Central to make her own way back home.

*She also ran into the back of a car¹ at low speed (no damage to parked car) in the town centre because brake failure² and I could only get so much effort out of the handbrake³. The car⁴ only had fresh wheel cylinders and a MOT⁵ the week before the master cylinder decided to shit itself.

(To answer the obvious questions: ¹) Mini Metro, ²)single circuit, ³) no dual controls obvs, ⁴) Reliant Rebel, ⁵) a proper one, not Stevie Wonder.)

I managed to dodge that by being diagnosed 4 months after passing my test!

All I do now is send some paperwork to the DVLA every three years with my GP's contact details on it. I hear nothing for a fortnight, then receive a shiny new licence in the post.

When I was learning her I had a gf that actually tried to get out of a moving car we were arguing that much. Quite frightening.

My young lad has been trying to get his theory test since last December. They keep cancelling it and the tests are harder to find than bog roll in a pandemic.
