That's the thing,even in summer it rarely goes over 85. The only time its ever ventured over 90 is in traffic with cooling fan turned off or sustained speeds of over 75mph.

The gauge should have a voltage stabiliser, if you are running direct from the loom then it will be running at 13.5v rather than 10v and it will over read as a result.

Normally temp gauge and fuel level run off the stabiliser.

shit simple to wire in, 12v ignition controlled feed to one side of the stabiliser, gauges connect to the other side and then to earth via the engine sensor.

The stabiliser itself also needs to be earthed

In built stabiliser in the gauge I do believe. Aftermarket durite temp gauge fitted to it.

The factory reliant gauges had the stabiliser had them on the back of the fuel/temp gauges if I recall.

Gearbox. I think you can do something between an earlier type and later. The guts are pretty much the same, just the clutch release and starter motor holes I think are different.
