Something like 8 cars on it including a modern for £450 or thereabouts.

Fucking cheap compared to my renewal (something like £720, I'd rather forget) which was for similar - 7 + 1 "modern" - the trouble was even stripping out all of the idle fleet it wasn't much cheaper. Maybe the bastards have put CA3 into a crime hell-hole?

That reminds me, I need to shop about the specialist places to see if I can get a better deal on the XJR next month.

Re: Eddie Honda's wheels of steel (and occasionally alloy)
With test imminent on the Jizz tomorrow, I thought I'd do some work on non-testable items instead.
Mrs H was grumbling about the noise the rear wiper was making, so when I borrowed the car last weekend I thought I'd hear it for myself. Yup, sounds familiar and like a bag of nails.
First up, remove the spindle cover, 10mm nut, wiggle the arm off the tapered spline and then remember to take some pictures
Then open the tailgate and push the middle through of a couple of trim clips like these on the bottom edge of the tailgate lining:
Release the grab handle and remove, then figure out where all the trim clips holding the panel on are. A long flat blade screwdriver came in handy to reach some of these and half came off with the panel, whilst the other half remained with the tailgate.
Here's the motor:
Unclip the multiplug halves and separate, undo the three 10mm bolts and it's off. Then do the same to the Silver Jizz and rob the motor from that. Fanny around for a bit trying to release five white panel clips from the tailgate tin and get them all back on the trim panel
Test first and refit everything. Job done.
There are two screws holding the motor casing to the gearbox
Slide the motor out and you can see the loose magnet (TADTS). I'll find some epoxy another day and bond it back in.
All similar to what I had to do before with the GS, but it had an excuse of being over 40 and French.

Re: Eddie Honda's wheels of steel (and occasionally alloy)
So I got up early doors this morning to look over the Jizz. Instead I made some coffee, had a ciggie in the man cave and pottered about the house. At noon I decided to have some noodles and then nearing 1 o'clock I got one of our shopping crates out and ditched everything out of the Jizz into it. Checked the oil and filled up the washers, didn't bother checking anything else like the lights. Quick sook on the carpets with Henry and drove over to the test centre.
Fucking boringly piss-easy this testing malarkey.

Exhaust backbox flange repair still good - nearly 2yr 7mths on - and plus 33,615 miles. I will have to continue admiring the shiny new one in the shed for a while yet.

Drove the Jizz to work yesterday, sounds a bit farty. Back box corroding on top, but its been like that for ages. Probably finally broken through.
I suppose instead of a temporary* repair, I should just change it with the one I bought 2yr 6¾ months ago.

Re: Eddie Honda's wheels of steel (and occasionally alloy)
(Still haven't done the Jizz exhaust. It's still sporty and still hasn't fallen off.)
In other news, this is motorised but not a conveyance. It's to do with a wheel not of steel or alloy, but plastic.
Honda Jr 1 killed the paper shredder by feeding something on the thick side into it. The little bollix. Looking at the price/quality of cheap shite and my aversion to sending things to landfill, I ventured inside it.
Fellowes P50CM, aka Lervia KH-4402 and probably has the same mechanism as the Fellowes P70CM / S701CM / T7CM / Shredmate
MADE IN CHI-NA. 7 screws to separate. The 7th is hidden under the crossed out wheelie bin on the sticker in the very middle.
You can see on the left it's stripped all 12 teeth off the small side of the compound gear. Now obviously Fellowes sell fuck-all parts for their consumer shit, so time to hunt down a 12T/50T compound gear...
Nothing around off-the-shelf, so land here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4558954
Looks like the answer, so find somewhere 'local' to print it in nylon CoPa rather than chocolate. €20 with the post, so order 20th Oct and wait. It was a long wait down to An Post making the Royal Mail look competent. 17 fucking days to get a small packet from Galway to here.
The helical gear is narrower because on the original the extra width overhangs to the inside, so if it was printed solid, it wouldn't be able to be pushed home on the shaft. Printing it with the overhang just make things unnecessarily complicated.
The a slight increase in diameter on the "base" of the print possibly due to material slump. 4mm hole in the middle was easy enough to clean up with a drill bit for a sliding fit on the shaft.
All buttoned back up and shredding fine again.
