They've been selling full self driving/a dream with cars since 2016 and it's still miles off, estimates there that they've raised 2 billion dollars off that alone, not bad going if you can get it?

There's been a few articles over the last few days about them selling the CO2 Credits that you recently mentioned. JLR have also just bought some as apparently their model mix now needs them due to the effects of the chip shortage.

Carbon Credits were the source of a massive "VAT carousel fraud" a few years ago. £300 miliion defrauded in just a few weeks

Seems weird that individuals could buy carbon credits from EU and then sell them on heŕe, before they were exported back to the EU, mostly by financial institutions.
So in reality, carbon credits are just there to make some people rich. I cannot see any other reason for their existance.

I think that it's to give the impression of doing something, usually without it being thought through so people take advantage.
I reckon we'll see a lot of that sort of stuff from Glasgow over the coming week or whatever.

Carbon credits are one of the biggest cons ever.
Even Clive Clusser wrote a book basically about that. Some company selling carbon credit type things to store CO2 & then dumping it in Alaskan waters killing all the fish & a few locals. I can't think of the title though.

You thinking of "Black Wind"? If so it was about a ww2 lost bomb. Sounds similar though.Hooli wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 8:35 pm Carbon credits are one of the biggest cons ever.

As I suspected I was right about everything.

The one with the bomb called 'Mother's Breath'? No not that one. I've googled it, I was thinking of 'Arctic Drift', where they find Benjamin Franklin amongst other things.treehugger wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 8:53 pmYou thinking of "Black Wind"? If people see that there's money in it it's surprising what lengths they'll go to to get it. That was a really well thought thru plan in NI some years back. Farmers heating empty sheds etc etc to burn more fuel to make more money, very eco friendly.
