Fucking VAG and their rip off prices. The robbing cunts started TPS which they say you have to use rather than your local dealer. They make up all this shit that it gives trade buyers better discount. Complete bullshit they work it out on your monthly spend with them. Most small garages that do pretty much all makes will rarely spend more than £100 a month if that. I spend as little as possible because they only give me a massive 2% discount even on fast moving parts. I would actually lose money on buying parts from them if my customers pay by card as the card companies charge 2.5% fee's. I can buy from my local dealer however they can't deliver, but will give me a decent discount (usually a minimum of 10%)

It's interesting that as a non-trade, TPS Bristol refused to deal with me and told me to go to a dealer. My local garage seem to use TPS quite a lot, including their quantum oil. I know they've told me that they deal with an awful lot of VAG vehicles.

It stinks. It's all one big price fixing exercise by the sounds of it.

They could have designed it to use standard o-rings.Kiltox wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 3:25 pm I guess the real issue with parts like that is that it’s only really old shitters or badly accident damaged cars that need them - so they’re sitting in a warehouse somewhere for years and years with nobody needing them
How often does the seal for a washer pump really fail?

Must cost a damn sight more to have a custom one off o ring manufactured rather than engineer a solution that would use a standard of the shelf solution

It’s a strainer and seal in one, to protect the pump I assume.

It didn’t really fit in at the dealer amongst all the SUVs - look how small it looks next to this q3!

As if an EU law bothers car manufacturers. Theres loads of others which are completely ignored.LynehamHerc wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 3:40 pm But then people would complain that they're not available.
Isn't there an EU law that says that manufacturers have to provide parts for 10 years after a specific date?
