A family touring Scotland's North Coast 500 route are said to be "lucky to be alive" after their motorhome was blown down a hill by storm winds.

Pictures show a scene of devastation after the rented vehicle rolled over several times - with the family of four and two dogs still inside.

Our tent got destroyed when camping in Western Scotland while I was a kid, my brother and I had to spend the last few nights kipping in the minibus. My old man spent an hour and a half using his 19 stone weight stopping their frame tent turning into a hang glider :lol:

Looks like we got off very lightly!
