I bought an old MZ 125 the other week which seems to go ok, it's the poverty spec model with drum brakes, no tacho and no oil pump so running premix etc.
It failed its test on a small number of things including a pair of tyres, I'm going to go for a scrambler kinda look to it with knobbly tyres so have ordered a pair and have set about doing the other bits and pieces to pass its test.
I have removed the panniers and front fairing but thinking I might refit the fairing, I think it looks kinda naff but also kinda cool at the same time.

Good to see the Brat getting used too.

I've ended up with this old shitter again, I first owned it in February 2020 when I swapped a Triumph Acclaim for it.
It was bought originally by John K at one of the shitefests, 2019 maybe. I heard stories of him doing handbrake turns in it around the villages. It then went to Ghostie, Loserone, Garbaldy then I had it for 6 months.
I fitted new wings, track control arm and exhaust, it was running badly when I got it and found it had the wrong filter housing so fitted the correct fuel filter housing with bleed screw and changed the glow plugs which improved things massively making it a decent enough car to drive.
I sold it in around September 2020 and it passed through a few owners, one of which ran out of fuel then ripped the front valance off trying to tow it and the other being yes wee wee allegedly hit a deer causing damage to the front end.
It then passed to Loserone who couldn't commit to fixing it so asked if I wanted anything before he scrapped it, I asked how much to buy it outright (£300) and looked into shiply quotes (£183) and a couple of days later it was delivered to me.

It was much rustier than when I last had it, someone had clearly been prodding all of the bubbly bits. The front end was in a poor state with the bonnet slightly crumpled, lower panel bent and wing bashed, it did come with a pair of brand new headlights and an indicator lens but I had to use some of my spare parts to sort the rest.





The majority of welding required is on the sills and arches, I started off with the easy side, fortunately a lot of the inner parts have been ok so far with only small areas needing replaced before the outer panel was made and welded in.

Nice to see it'll live again.

Just casually uses some of the stash of Peugeot 305 spare parts like it's nothing.

I reckon you must have one of the best 305 parts stashes in the country, going by how often you fix them.

Some more progress on the 305, I made a wheel arch panel from sheet metal and welded it in. I'm happy enough with the results.

The brakes were seriously binding which led to the fluid boiling and the brakes not functioning so after I nursed it back home it I removed the caliper, squeezed the pistons back in and changed the brake fluid.
That seemed to do the trick because the next day I sold it to Zelandeth on AS who managed to drive it home to Milton Keynes without any brake related issues.

I did get what I wanted for the car in the end no thanks to that twat Peter C who derailed my sale thread which I then deleted, I had pretty much given up on selling it until someone asked how much I wanted for it (£3500), Zel seemed to think it was a good price so came and bought it. It'll be interesting to see when he sells it on at a much inflated price how many people moan about it, my guess none whatsoever.


With the Mercedes away I didn't really have a wafty barge on the fleet so when this popped up locally on the ebay thread I bought it.

I'm happy with it but might have liked an auto for optimum waft, it's a Toyota Camry 2.2 petrol. It's incredibly smooth to drive and relatively quick for the size of it. I previously had a 3.0 v6 auto camry with leather interior but I much prefer the cloth interior in this one.

I mot'd the Fenlander, it passed with a few advisories, I bought it for £300, swapped the bald front tyres for decent ones then spend a further £100 on a driveshaft and £50 for its mot and sold it for £700.


Also bought a mk2 Scirocco for £900

It's rough as fuck and on moon miles but still drives quite well, the front electric windows are fucked which isn't ideal for driving in this hot weather so currently avoiding using it until I can get them fixed!

I was happy enough with the result, I think I'm getting better at making sheet metal repair panels.

I can't recall when I last saw a real Sirocco in the wild.
