That's only on BW boxes. Same on e.g. P6V8.
On all others the kickdown is just that - a kickdown and the blood pressure is done by the gonernor.

Fair enough, said I didn't know much about them.

I know even less but I think you've explained inadvertently to me why my autobox flares slightly on full throttle on low changes. Works fine at all other times and if you disconnect the vac line you get whiplash in lower changes at full throttle.

Its getting there! Last part of the jigsaw before paint :)

I know some said I would need a new passengers side rear fender but my bodywork guy worked wonders with it in 10 minutes yesterday 🤪

Its not finished yet but the basic shape has been returned to the panel now he just needs to knock down the base of the side scoop a tiny bit so it matches the door line then add a skim of filler but nowhere near the amount it had when I got it!

We have also started to do a budget refurb on the wheels.
There are being replaced with Ansen Sprints but now the paint has been done just wanted to clean them up for the time being until I get my others ;)

Image

So they were sanded, primed, and the centers are satin black and the other rims will be silver so heres what we started with and heres where we got to yesterday before we left

Hopefully will be in primer by the end of the week

That was me and seeing the mess the 'bodywork guy' made of it, I repeat:

I'd be happy with that if I wasn't having an expensive respray.

It's a lot better than quite a few bits on my MGB, which is finally due to go to have its sills replaced in a week.

Meanwhile

Getting Closer :)

Last photos I will probably share with you all for about a week as I dont want to show it in final paint until a week from now when it attends a show ;)

But yeh crumpled fender is no more and its now in primer and looks the best it ever has under my ownership

As we left it today its now in primer ready for a guide coat and flatting before going into basecoat and lacquer early next week :)

Then its the mammoth task of refitting everything though some bits of trim will be missing as i just never had them and as yet cant track them down in time :(

No matter at least for the first time in years it will be back in factory colour even if its missing some trim and the odd badge or two!
