Aloominum Bodied Jagwaahs. Worth A Punt?
It only seems like yesterday that they were being introduced.

I mostly hear good things. They go a bit 'Land Rover' around the edges in places but I've not heard of owt serious.

Re: Aloominum Bodied Jagwaahs. Worth A Punt?
I've had two - a TDVi which was absolutely shocking on the reliability front, and recently a much older 3.0 Pez which had LPG and was sold to a geezer on the Beige. It had done over 270K at that point and was stunning for the age, cost and mileage. Replaced with a "sensible" Honda CRV which I like about 1% as much. Parts aren't always easy as they are rarer than you'd think, but there are more in breakers now.
That one is missing sat nav and proper OEM HID lights - I could live without nav (my first X350 didn't have it) but not with the wank halogen lights. It also looks to have the 17" wheels which I am fairly sure were discontinued by that year. I like the colour - same as my recently departed one. It's proper beige as it's about the base spec.
I would never buy a later one. 99% of the later ones are the diesel and it's not anything like as good as the Pez V6 IMHO. Also later ones have more complex electrickery and it's a jag so it will go wrong.

They are probably better than the rust bodied ones.
Check OMG tax band, though.

Buy one they’re great.
Just when I thought I was out they dragged me back in.

I've had one for a couple of months now.....only the v6......but aside from couple of little niggles it is great. Before that I had same engine in S type so wasn't sure it would have enough go.....but it's fine as apparently it is lighter.

Great cars when running right I'm sure, but like all the Jags I have had they need to be at the kind of price that if it shits itself then it's time to ditch it rather than be forced to throw money at it because you paid a few thousand for it. Being alloy it should weigh in well I suppose.

I've had one for eight months now. It's excellent in so many ways.

Petrol V6 is the way to go with a coil suspension conversion when the air ride goes wrong. The engine is exceptionally good.
£2000 seems plenty for a tidy one.

Re: Aloominum Bodied Jagwaahs. Worth A Punt?
I'm still loving mine I have retired it today though as the Merc has been idle for a fortnight so due a blat around. Slightly worried (I worry a lot) that the battery on the Jag is on its way out as I'm 'sure' that it is starting with slightly less alacrity than it used to.
Mine is also s a measly 3.0 litre petrol but it seems to have plenty of go, though I find the car gets you into the mindset of cruise and enjoy so any lack of go is hard to discern. I think I'd buy the best you can find and enjoy it rather than a leggy-tired one and definitely keep the air suspension as it's brilliant... when it's working. Currently, mine is though I live in fear of the warning light appearing, it's bound to sooner or later.
