Blankety Blank

Post by Warren t claim »

Nothing says poverty like a large number of blank switches. Mercedes know this and ensure drivers of lower spec models don't have to feel inadequate.

How many blanking plates does your car have? Despite being DHSS spec my P38 only has seven.

One.

Oddly the person who ordered this car deselected the option, so actually requested a blank.

I once drove an ex Royal Mail DAF CF that I'm sure had something like 37 blank switches.

I love blanking plates. Freelander has no Aircon or hill descent so even the gear lever loses that yellow switch that no one ever uses.
I especially appreciate big blanking plates like the the one in the middle of my Sunbeam 90 which covered the hole where the rev counter should have been.
Few had factory fitted tachometers but now it's hard to find a pic with the plate still in place, so you'll just have to imagine it or wait for Merc to provide one.

Note red charge light made in the shape of the opposite side starter button, a nice touch.

I’m sitting in my Test and Trace van reading this, since Boris has joined Hooli’s merry band and nobody is getting tested ( don’t worry we finish at the end of the month).
Anyway , only 2 blanks on this Renault Master. But now I’m intrigued as to what the end switch is for, I’ve been driving this for almost a year and never noticed it before. Looks like the sort of thing pseudo off-readers for when they venture off tarmac.

The one lit up? I'd guess it turns the parking sensors off, handy if you had a trailer on.

The transhit has got one. It mutes the noise incase you're in the middle of a song or phonecall.

How the fuck does that look like an off-road type switch?
No, the other end !
The one with a picture of a car on uneven ground next to a tree, FFS.
I pressed it today and a message came up “ Loose surface extended grip - ON “ appeared. So that’s cleared that up, then.
