Re: Scrapyard Memories
Neither can I,which is kind of annoying.. Can't be certain but I only saw Spudgun race in his own colours, not the Warlords white. They must have been fairly local to each other though.

Spudgun was the west country, think Devon or Cornwall. Warlords Southampton way, read an interview by one in a mag, said they knew someone who dealt in jags and got lots of cars cheap from him.slowanimals wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 10:38 am Neither can I,which is kind of annoying.. As I suspected I was right about everything.

Re: Scrapyard Memories
I will admit I had to resort to YouTube to aid my memory..it was either that or go into the loft to dig out some old banger mags but it's fucking freezing up there.

Re: Scrapyard Memories
Was he? Thought Karl, but think he had a brother who died earlier? Spudgun had a westy as a road car iirc, got nicked but I think he got it back.
As I suspected I was right about everything.

Dunno...I only knew Mark and met Vicky his wife once. He had several big Farinas besides the racers.

Re: Scrapyard Memories
Used to use one in the mid eighties in Lewisham, next to the train line.
Their speciality was advertising recon engines in the exchange and mart. The recon consisted of gas axing the engine out of the car, painting it with hammerite, et viola!
Biggest thing I ever nicked from a breakers were 2 alfasud drive shafts. They wanted £35 each, which was more than a weeks wages, so I bought a £15 car seat, ripped the insides out, and stuffed the driveshafts into it. Even used one of their barrows to move it to my car.
