That 541R is supposed to be a really good one. The prices have been creeping up on them, I bought mine as a basket case back in 1998 and paid £1000 for it. Fully restored and back on the road I sold it in 2001 for £10k. I just broke even at that. Value now tends to be around £30k, there are a lot priced considerably higher as the owners club are pretty focused on trying to talk the marque up and raise prices. Bridge classic seem to think they are some sort of specialist in them now as they have restored one and have a few basket cases that they are offering as fully restored cars for £100k. The 541 was a good old car with the 4 litre lorry lump they pull well and I had mine over 100mph a few times. I prefered the original 541 as the R and later S designs don't look as good with all the bulges. Jensen were ahead of a lot of other manufactures being first UK car with discs all round and seat belts. Later they pioneered 4x4 and an early type of ABS, for what they were they have always been an under dog to Aston Martin.

My Dad's mate reckoned he passed a Ford Pop on the A30 at well over a ton in his 541R. He swore it was rocking when he looked in the mirror.....

They are, as you say, significant cars but 65K is just plucked out of the air really, they don't present as a highly trackable commodity with so few coming up for sale.
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......

Sounds more than a bit overpriced.
As I suspected I was right about everything.
