I've no idea where Stilgoe came from, was he on 'that's life' originally?
He was a gargantuan fuckwit but certainly no worse than the berks that inhabit fantasy TV nowadays.

I think it was That's Life, along with a dog that said sausages, a bucktoothed old hag and some old geezer gurning behind a rubber plant. Fuck me, no wonder I went out a lot in the Seventies. Good job beer was only 28p a pint.
As Sheddy says, though, still better than the cuntfest on there now.....
