Yes was a school minibus for the first part of its life. Tools and glass don't really go together very well so I panelled them in.
Not sure what is going on with the photos will try uploading again tonight.

Pics are working for me, I'd suggest upgrading the user & trying again.

Our school minibus was like that....Only red. And a facelift Mk1. Not really like it at all then, but it brought back some memories all the same. It had those lateral park bench seats, no belts, no jesus handles, fuck all.

I only went in it once, it was a bit of a swot-mobile really and you only got to ride in it in extra-curricular activities which didn't interest me one bit. I had been on a sponsored walk and feigned limpness to cadge a lift back to the school for the last 3 miles or so....

It's main attraction for me was providing a bit of screenage for a crafty Guards behind it's shed.

I have fond memories of 'school trips' in the evenings from boarding school (where I got sent as it was the only place took me after I was expelled from primary aged 7 1/2) that just involved winter trips down snow covered lanes sideways with Mr Sladden seeing how long he could keep one of these sideways without crashing it.

The number of kids in the back was handy for getting it back out of hedges & ditches on occasion.

That would have been a crew bus, with the sideways wooden benches, not many of those have survived.

I had an evil bitch of a headmistress ruin things for me. Aged 7 I was a year up, top of the class & due to do exams at 14. The headmaster retired & this crazy, evil bitch appeared. I was moved back down as it was 'too much paperwork for her' and then told I was a trouble maker as I was bored. Oh & to top it off I wasn't allowed to be left handed, she was that mental. I rebelled a bit*.

Yet people wonder why I've got no respect for teachers, with those experiences.

I can understand that.

It seemed to me that it was a bit like whack a mole in that anyone who stood out was bashed down. This was before your time but maybe it was the same then.

It was with her aye. People said I was wrong when she died of brain cancer within a year or so to say 'good, she won't ruin anyone else's life'. I still think I was right though.

Maybe the brain cancer affected her judgement?

I can sympathise with your sentiment as she fucked up your education.
