No. What he wants first and foremost is a simple circuit that actually works from the factory.

These don't rot and built to a better quality than this flimsy Solihull shit. A decent and worthy upgrade over this Jag.

If I remember correctly no Jags have been built at Solihull, apart from the F Pace.

bad luck on that rot
The Christmas tree and ABS etc warnings happened on the last 4.0 XJ8 that you bought off Fatha thestag.
That turned out to be a battery that was not up to muster. needs 12.7 before starting! anything less and the alternator cannot keep up with battery charge and running all teh electrics. I would check there first

Re: Supercharging the climate with a XJR V8 - Bloody Rot!
Cheers for the tip, but it's different to that xmas tree of lights. I've had that once but it was a lack of volts as you say. This one does all that & then ignores the throttle pedal as well as logging a well known code to say the TPS is shot.
I've spoken to the specialist place I use, they'll weld it once I get it there for them to see. I've had a better look & the plate is seam welded in & it's split along side the seam. They also told me which TPS is always at fault, so I've ordered one for £40 off ebay. An identical part is £80 plus VAT from a Jag specialist or if you go to Jag they only do the entire throttle body for £1,600ish!
It's going to be an expensive MOT considering the bit of metal a rear tyre picked up & is now showing cords at the bottom of the cut it made. Mind you, I'd half planned new tyres before winter as these ones are so old they just don't work on cold wet roads. I'll look for a deal on four as they are all sodding old & starting to crack.

If that's the only rot it has than it's not too bad all things considered.
I'd check it over very thoroughly though if I were you. Fuck knows what other hidden horrors it harbours.
