Re: Supercharging the climate with a XJR V8 - I opened the bonnet
Didn't you pay quite a bit for all that? I wouldn't send a car out like that. Even a quick £50 patch would get painted!
OMG U OK HUN?

Re: Supercharging the climate with a XJR V8 - I opened the bonnet
I'm not impressed it wasn't sealed either tbh, especially after all the talk of welding from underneath so the top stays neat. I'll have a word with the garage I took it too now I've found it, I know they subbed it out but it was to a place they use regularly & trust so I doubt they'd have expected it too. They told me they hadn't opened the bonnet since getting it back when I popped back with it due to the odd noise.

Re: Supercharging the climate with a XJR V8 - One year on
Right on year on since I got this & it's celebrated by giving me the P1121 TPS error again. Obviously the quality* no-name ebay replacement from about four months ago is lasting well.

No point paying more, the ones double the price from UK places are the same part with a big mark up. Jag don't sell the TPS alone so you can't get a genuine one without paying £1,600 for a complete throttle body.

Denso 198500-3300 fits the V6 S Type as well. I'll keep an eye open at breakers. That's basically a Ford engine.

Re: Supercharging the climate with a XJR V8 - Fer Fecks Sakes...
Update time...
I got another TPS (£42) and fitted it today, no difference at all in the problem.
It's still randomly logging a P1121 error & disabling the throttle. But just for a change it keeps flashing up 'Electrical Fault' or 'Engine Failsafe Mode' neither of which log a code my code reader can see.
Considering this all started again after the welding & there is a new rattle behind the glovebox which I think is where the ECUs are located it's going back to the garage. I'm assuming they disturbed a load of wiring stripping carpets out for welding & something isn't quite back together right.
Bloody cars.

ungrateful bastard thing!
Before you go Basil Fawlty on it. Do the old disconnect both battery terminals, is the battery holding at least 12.8v?
After a couple of mins, touch the pos and neg leads together, this sometimes clears down error states
Then reconnect the terminals and try again.
