How dare you overlook MY engine! Okay, it's not a characterful XK engine but it's more efficient, more powerful (than the old 4.2 - 240 bhp to a measly 180 in series two, 205 in series 3) and it goes well enough and is smooth and refined.

I like it.

But, I also like the old engines, just not a fan of the V12, too smooth, too refined, not enough power.

I never liked the idea of a V8 Jag till I tried one, but it suits the car as it's a civilised V8 not a yank one.

MOT prep done today as it's booked in Weds.

I've wire brushed, kill rusted and painted the rusty brake pipe flagged up last year. It's only about 8" long behind the front shock, I'd just nener bothered to take the front wheel off to do it.

That and pumping the tyres up as all were 4psi low, was all I needed to do.

I thought they were straight 6 or V12?
Ben
We'll overlook the AJ-V6 in the more recent* tat.
We certainly will!
Ben
You'll need to overlook the Ford AJD-V6/PSA DT17 as well then :)

The V11 hasn't been covered yet.
I guess everyone is waiting for Nergle who's the expert on them/it.

MOT achieved this morning.

One advisory, the OSF spring pan is rotting. Looks like it simply* bolts to the lower arm so an easy one to do. Obviously all the bolts will snap when the job is attempted, so I'll book it in somewhere next summer as I can't be arsed attempting such things anymore when I know it'll break in a way I don't have tools to fix.

They got the mileage wrong on the MOT, so it's 800 lower than it should be. Not sure I can be bothered to get it corrected as I know what happened & have written it on the cert. The records are only for me really after all.
