The barge has returned! At a cost of just under £1,700, it's come back with an MOT. Amusingly, the tyre I know is illegal & told the garage about wasn't noticed on the test so it's still running four old tyres. I'm in two minds about either buying it some decent ones that it does need or just filling the cut with vulcanising solution & ignoring it till I've paid a bit of debt off....

It felt rather good to drive again & now the front end of the car isn't falling off it doesn't bumpsteer anything like it did. I suspect the last two points are connected... I left the garage, got it warm, aimed it down a straight road & booted it. I then laughed & realised how much I'd missed that comfy grunt. The TC light flashing away between 50 & 70mph because the road was damp amuses me too.

If it dries up enough I'll open the bonnet & look at the welding, I might even get you some pics.

So have they waxoyled it or are you going to have that fun experience before the salt starts being laid down?

It's too wet to look underneath...

The vast majority of the welding is the inner wings, so it'll be easy to check when the rain stops. Hopefully sunday as I'm out on the bike tomorrow.

Drag it to a meet, a comparison is due.

I shall, it's too damn cold n wet for bikes that far at night currently.

I suspect it's surprisingly similar, I know when laying under it everything looks like my XJ40 did.

I took this to NPH II last night. It does drive better now it's all connected together.

However it's got a squeek/rattle thing from a brake which it didn't have, I thought it might be a stone so ignored it to start with & it's somehow managed to get worse on fuel! It should be better with the new lamba sensor as it was running rich on that bank previously.

It's not because you're giving it a jolly good thrashing then?

FUCK. That's more than I've spent on my 4.0 Disco since buying it two years ago, including the purchase price (but excluding fuel).

Aye, it's why my credit card is crying again.

I think I've solved the lower MPG thing, they hadn't cleared the fault code for the lamba sensor. I did it that today & the brake noise was a stone well jammed in they got out for me today when I popped back n asked.
