Yep. The rest of us think they should get a job and fuck off.

We charge our eldest 300 a month all in. It was 200 but he decided to increase it. He's not on a great salary being a trainee teacher but he's still got quite a few hundred left each month to pay to run his car, going out with his mates etc.. We don't need the money but he wants to contribute rather than sponge as he sees it.
As Nergle says he is getting an appreciation of money as well for when he moves out.

I did pretty much that! Abusive childhood, regular beatings etc meant I wanted to get away as soon as I could from my dad

Anyway lets get back to what should Ghosty buy. How about this little gem. Only problem is it's in Paris and we all know how hard it is to buy a Renault 20 in Paris without being attacked by terrorists.

I never thought I'd say this about a Renault but that really does look like a beauty.. Even with an algae interior

I did at the time but now I appreciate it to a certain extent.

My folk's rule was that if I wasn't in education I needed to pay them rent. When I failed my HND and moved back in with them after college they asked for £40 a week. The dole paid £50 a week, a good incentive to get a job!

I also had their garage and would often find my Dad had repaired my car while I was at work, which was nice.

Also, at that rate they'll still have been making a loss just feeding me and were also stuck in a huge house when they wanted to downsize.

Overall I reckon I still owe them 6-8k for bailing me out repeatedly...

My parents charged me rent but they put it in a savings account, to put towards for paying when I became a uni student. After uni I had a 3 month gap between finishing and starting my new job after uni. First month I lived at my parents, things got fairly fractious by the end. Next month was at my girlfriend (now wife) parents. After a month things were getting quite fraught. Last month was a bit of a knife edge. I still don't like stopping there even now! (We get on alright now though).

Somehow my, now wife, has managed to live with me together for over 11 years.
