Long-termer me hole. That's about as likely as purplebargeken or plasticvandan having a long-termer.

Re: Out of Jap Tat : a spectral fleet thread
I think many Granada’s left now are owned by that sort tbh. I’ll probably get slated for stereotyping (or I would if this were elsewhere!) but a lot are owned by banger racers or ex banger racers. The Ghia X estate I had came from exactly one of those people. Big tubby Pompey geezer, covered in tattoos... nice enough guy once I got talking to him and all but certainly not the sort I’d typically socialise with. The Reverend Bluejeans wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 1:41 pmGhia X = King of the council estate. They were ever thus, not my scene tbh. That horrible grille, that ghastly leather. The only Mark II I'd consider is a pre facelift 2.8, preferably a GL. The later Ghias are a bit too Rigger Boots for my mates. You see them at shows, fat tattooed owners, best fookin' car I ever 'ad pal.Danthecapriman wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2019 10:36 pmI sort of agree with you but the Granny is a much older rarer car that’s in more demand. Tbh, it’s totally irrelevant if it’s better as a car or not than a modern BMW. The desire to own one is not necessarily a reminder of ‘the good old days’ but it’s a toy someone wants because they like them. The Reverend Bluejeans wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2019 6:11 pm
My E32. Even now it wouldn't break 2 grand on a good day. Therefore it's worth half as much as a rusty example of an inferior car that folk buy because it reminds them of the good old days, whatever they were.
Like Junkman, I owned a lot of these 'valuable' classics when they were bought by mere mortals and priced accordingly. That Granada Estate is worth 500 quid to me. It's fucked.
I’d still have the Granada over your BMW, I just like Granada’s much more. That’s all there is to it. Plenty of other people would say the opposite.
That particular Granada is/was fucked, yes. The give away being the vinyl top. There’s only one reason you’d fit one to a car that didn’t have them in the first place! I wouldn’t have even bothered looking at it based purely on that. Plenty of others around though.

The guy selling the Granada I was looking at was of the stereotype. Daily driver was a battered C-Max Ghia, 20 stone, on a crutch, chequered fleece, German shepherd etc.

Probably a casual racist as well. Voted leave, flies a George Cross etc etc.
I once went to a Ford RS OC meeting. That was interesting.
