Here's a better picture of it, complete with scars and marks from having spent 3 years at the body shop:

I took it out for a run this morning and, besides getting frozen pinkies, I saw 10 Magpies, 3 singletons, a group of 3 and a group of 4 all within half an hour. I can't remember seeing so many for a very long time.

I scored very low on the autie test. I’m cheerful, happy, confident, like meeting new people, chatty and largely sociable. What the fuck am I doing on this forum?

That colour is so of it's time, I bet it was a nightmare to match back in the day!

I like the colour too, it looks right on chrome MGBs.

That’s lovely that is.
Wish my 911 was that shade. I wouldn’t be constantly wanting to pull it to pieces and respraying it another colour.

It's a bloody nightmare to match now as all the rattle cans seem to be different shades.

My Harvest Gold doesn't match any of the rattle cans you can get. They're much darker than what the paint on mine is. Not sure if they changed the shade of Harvest Gold in later years as mine is similar to scruffybodgers. Where as earlier seem to be darker as per the cans.

I've bought loads and got really hacked off when I was rattle canning it, I'd get one side to match but then the bonnet would be a different shade. I'd then do that and it wouldn't match the other side. This is cans all from the same source, albeit at different times sometimes.

I've now bought about 8 cans at once from the MGOC, all have the same date on them. That's a job for next year now. I'm not bothered about the exact shade it's that it's the same over all the car, if possible.

Back when my dad was doing a lot of write offs and insurance repairs he would often take a panel cut down along with the paint code to get it matched, I of course tagged along whether possible, getting to go into the back and watch the mixing process. I can remember there was often much cursing when after having looked it up on the microfiche there would be several different recipes given, with no indication what the difference between them might be!
This was back when everything was done by weight on a balance. The number of times they finished the mix dipped a spatula in it only for it to be obviously wrong must have been soul destroying.
