Gearing up to attack the Jizz brakes shortly, I collected this from the Parcel Motel on the way home from work this morning.

Ordered at 9.19am Monday morning, despatched DHL 48 at 4.08pm. Arrived in N.Ireland 8.24am Tuesday, Relayed to Dublin and processed 8.12pm. Left in the local locker at 1.45am today. Very swift on this occasion. Things can really grind to a halt in the run-up to Christmas because items aren't pooled into lockers/big volumes. (No doubt set for customs delays sometime in the future)

In the meantime waiting on the DPD man to turn up with some calipers from the UK and a separate order originating from NL which seems to be stuck in progress.

I bloody hope so. I've spent the last week hoping to avoid the guards as the metal-on-metal from the NSR outer pad has been a bit OBVIOUS.

Calipers turned up a 10.20am. A big up to Brakes International https://brakeparts.co.uk/ for getting them over pronto. Even with the DPD / exchange rate / Forex card fees they were cheaper than what was available here and outright too, so I've a spare pair to fanny about with at my leisure.

I'm going to have to get something done with this tricycle business because Mrs H will be needing her car back ASAP.

My impact screwdriver rarely fails to get the job done, but hammering a centre punch on the outer edge of the screw will soon shift it

Nah, it's only just over 72k on my watch. Intend to keep the wheels turning for at least another 10 years/110k.

With the end of August approaching it was time to get the 306 back on the drive as the Motor Tax was due to run out and I wanted to take a break from paying two hundred fucking euro a quarter on it, so I stuck it back on the drive. This left me no room to do work on the Jizz, so I had to actually make some room to get it in on the end. The cunning plan was to move the trailer tent round to the back and shuffle the V340 and 306 up, but I had some obstacles to negotiate...

First off was to remove a rotary dryer as that is where I wanted to put it. I never use it, it's rusty shit. The fucker that put it there however did a very comprehensive job of concreting the bastard in.

First I managed to break the top off
to find a solid bar.
Chipped away at the concrete a bit and got the angry grinder out.
Shoved the slab back and onto the next stage - lifting the trailer tent onto its side. It weighs about 170kg, and the trolley is rated at 150kg, but fuck it, it's all I have.
Being Billy nae mates, I resorted to getting my engine crane out to complete the operation. It's also getting dark and I have to enlist the help of a rather unimpressed Mrs H. We manage to get the trailer tent round the corner of the house but by the time I get to the back door I hit a snag.
That'll be a wheel fucked then.

Used a trolley jack to take the weight off the rogue wheel and get it into position
re-attach engine crane and lower.
Hooray! Another car space on the drive to fill!
