Pug 306 news. Fished the battery out. It's big, but not as big as the Volvo one. That scuppers any plan of swapping batteries. Also it has a drain all the time. I reckon a week or two will see it flat. Alarm? Never investigated, as it was simply enough to unscrew the positive terminal as it's one of these French efforts
which screws onto a hammered on claw.
Reading before charging. Somewhere between 2V and 3V. Doh. Time to fire up the tin box.

Jizz update:

I was off Thursday, so had a bit of time to look at the running and loss of power jerkiness of the Jizz as it was getting real bad. No EML on, but I thought I'd try a substitution for Jizz 1, that didn't have the issue.

2 x 12mm head bolts and a wiring plug, best achieved with a 3/8" drive. Not that I have much in 3/8" drive. I really should do something about that.

Not that grim in the grand scheme of things.


Jizz 1 EGR valve looked a bit cleaner, so I lobbed that one on.

Test drive: A bit better, but still no immune. Best get everything together for this 150k service.

306 update.

Whilst waiting for the battery to charge, I ended up having 27 million tabs on the browser trying to work out the the deal with front suspension arms. Mine is quite close to a changeover and I don't entirely trust the Service Box to spit out the right numbers.

Then I had to stop melting my head and instead of "replace that whilst I'm in there" going back to "replace what is actually fucked" - two springs and a P bush. (Well maybe both). IIRC ruffgeezer did these arms before the plumber, so not exactly a huge mileage or time ago.

It's a scandal they pull up the parts pages on the Service Box that list only the whole arms for a lot of models, when the cheeky fuckers also have them actually available as separates, but hidden away unless you know where to find them.

Anyway the magic eye on the battery went green after a day and it appears to hold a charge. I'll zap a load on later to see how it holds up.

Took the bonnet release cable handle off in the footwell, but didn't get beyond that. Not looking forward to completing that task.

Jizz news.

Took it to work yesterday, coming back I saw the oil lamp flicker. Pissed about putting some in a 2.30am. Mrs H needs to actually check these things.

If she's like my missus that's one of hubbies jobs.

My missus doesn't even get to fuel our cars, even though she can double de-clutch and live without PAS.

If buying P bushes without the arms, find the part number for Berlingo P bushes. They are far more substantial and last a lot longer.
I had numerous 306i back int day and it was a common upgrade.

We discussed this the other day. I've filled the 107 about half a dozen/10 times now. She was pleased to tell me she hasn't put any in yet.
I hardly drive it but when I do the light always seems to be on.

They don't need to put fuel in when the dash says 17 miles and they are only going 15.
